Our Story

Quwavu began in 2016 when florist Emma Richardson opened a small studio on Elmfield Road in London. After working with several event companies across the city, she noticed how often wedding bouquets felt generic. Couples wanted something personal, but most florists offered standard arrangements with limited customization.

Starting with just three local weddings that first year, we focused entirely on understanding what each couple actually wanted. Instead of presenting fixed packages, we asked about their venue, dress style, colour preferences, and even the flowers they remembered from childhood. This approach worked.

By 2018, we had arranged bouquets for 47 weddings across London and the Home Counties. Our team grew to include two additional florists, both trained in classical European techniques combined with contemporary British styling. We source flowers from New Covent Garden Market three times weekly, ensuring variety and freshness.

What We Do

We design and assemble wedding bouquets for ceremonies throughout London and surrounding areas. Each bouquet is made fresh within 24 hours of your wedding day. Our consultation process typically takes 45 minutes, during which we discuss your specific requirements, show you seasonal flower options, and create a design that fits your budget.

We work with British-grown flowers when seasonally available, supplemented by imported varieties for year-round choice. Our studio maintains controlled temperature storage, and we deliver bouquets in protective boxes designed to prevent damage during transport.

We create a digital mockup showing your bouquet from three angles, with options to adjust ribbon colour, greenery ratio, or stem length before finalising the design.

Same-Day Assembly

Your bouquet is assembled on your wedding morning, not the day before. Stems are cut underwater to prevent air bubbles, then immediately placed in professional preservative solution. This timing guarantees maximum bloom openness and petal firmness throughout your ceremony and reception, with flowers looking as fresh at 10 PM as they did at noon.

Experienced Florists

Our team includes three florists with 8-15 years specialising in bridal work, having designed for over 400 weddings across London venues. Each holds City & Guilds Level 3 certification in floristry. They understand how different flower varieties behave in various temperatures and lighting, ensuring your bouquet maintains its shape during outdoor photos or indoor receptions.

Quality Guarantee

We inspect every bouquet 30 minutes before delivery, checking stem security, ribbon tightness, and overall balance. If any flower shows wilting or browning, it's replaced immediately. Our insurance covers bouquet replacement up to 2 hours before your ceremony. We photograph each arrangement for our records and provide you with care instructions for post-wedding preservation.

Reliable Delivery

Bouquets travel in water-filled holders inside temperature-controlled vehicles. We coordinate with your wedding planner or venue coordinator for precise timing, arriving 90 minutes before the ceremony. Our driver carries backup supplies including ribbon, floral tape, and extra blooms. For venues within 25 miles of London, we deliver personally rather than using courier services.

Matching Bridesmaid Bouquets

We design bridesmaid arrangements that complement your bouquet while being 30-40% smaller and lighter for comfortable carrying. Colours are coordinated using a professional colour wheel to ensure harmony with dress fabrics. Each bridesmaid bouquet uses the same flower types in different proportions, creating visual unity in photos without making arrangements look identical or repetitive.

Transparent Pricing

Our quotes itemise each component: flower cost per stem type, labour hours for assembly, ribbon and accessories, delivery fee based on distance. There are no hidden charges for consultations, design revisions, or colour adjustments. Prices remain fixed from booking to delivery, even if wholesale flower costs increase seasonally. Payment is 50% deposit at booking, 50% seven days before your wedding.

Flexible Booking

We accept bookings from 12 months to 3 weeks before your wedding date, though peak season Saturdays (May-September) fill 6-8 months ahead. Your consultation can be rescheduled twice without penalty if your plans change. Design modifications are accepted until 14 days before the event. We maintain a waitlist for last-minute openings and can accommodate urgent requests for midweek ceremonies.
